Northland School Division (NSD) is pleased to announce the appointment of Blair Sellars as Father R. Perin School Principal. Mr. Sellars is no stranger to Northland School Division. Early in his career, he taught at Father R. Perin School.
“The Board congratulates Blair on becoming the new Principal at Father R. Perin School,” said Robin Guild, Board Chair. “We are pleased to see we have been able to recruit an outstanding leader for the Janvier community. Being able to achieve excellence in leadership is essential to achieving our number one priority which is excellence in learning.”
Blair has much experience teaching in First Nations communities. For 10 years, Mr. Sellars was a Principal/Teacher at Chief Julian Yendo School in Wrigley, Northwest Territories (Dehcho Divisional Education Council).
“Blair has the leadership qualities we are looking for to support the instructional focus areas in the Northland School Division,” said Dr. Nancy Spencer-Poitras, Superintendent of Schools. “He brings a variety of experiences from other schools and communities. We are delighted to bring him into our team!”
“After teaching in Janvier many years ago, I am very happy to be returning as Principal and I am looking forward to working once again and developing positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and the community,” said Sellars.
Blair holds a Bachelor of Education and a Bachelor of Science from Memorial University of Newfoundland. Blair also shows a love for the outdoors and sports.
